Alex Chan attends Design for Safety Seminar
Exchanging safety‑by‑design insights with the industry for the future of construction
15 October 2026 | Industry Engagement
Alex Chan, Director of Business Strategy of Kam Kee, joined the Design for Safety Seminar organised by the Construction Industry Council. Together with industry stakeholders, he explored the future of construction safety and how to enhance overall project safety through design and pre‑construction planning.
Hosted at the Future Construction Centre, Hong Kong Institute of Construction (Kowloon Bay Campus), the seminar gathered industry experts, engineering consultants, project owners and contractors to share good practices and real‑world experience. It emphasises identifying, assessing and mitigating potential hazards at the design stage, encouraging the trade to embed design‑for‑safety principles into day‑to‑day operations.

Industry Exchange to Strengthen Safety Mindset
Participation in the seminar enhanced Kam Kee’s understanding of industry thinking and real‑world implementation of safety‑oriented design. For our company, safety management should start at project planning, spanning design coordination, construction planning and site management. Early risk identification and enhanced cross‑team communication enable more comprehensive considerations for project delivery.

Upholding our core values Integrity as Foundation, Craftsmanship as Root, Kam Kee takes project accountability seriously and prioritises the well‑being of all site workers and partners. We encourage our team to embed safety awareness in daily work. Through continuous learning, proactive communication and professional collaboration, we safeguard site safety and construction quality together.
